Refugees on the east coast

While on assignment for an NGO i was fortunate enough to visit to the east coast. This was a real eye opener, yet one thing that always gets me is the Sri Lankan ability to maintain a sense of humour and smile through some of the worst conditions imaginable for a human to endure. It does however give you a false sense of security, in the sense that they seem to be happy while living as subhuman shit. Just because they do it with a smile doesn't mean that nothing should be done.
